Darina

Little Darina , meaning "Peace" in Ukranian, is 12 inches tall and had been made from a truly wonderful vintage, Ukrainian linen. This fabric was hand loomed decades ago, and as such each piece is unique, complete with little faults and irregularities. The linen has been lightly stained at the tips of the paws, toes, ears and tummy and then embroidered with little sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine and forget me nots, a symbol of true love and respect. Darina has been filled with a mix of woodwool, polyester fibre and has been weighted with steel granules. Darina has black glass eyes, a mossy brown emroidered and waxed nose and hand painted shading for added expression.
